About Us: The Rusk County Democratic Party

We in Rusk County stand on the shoulders of generations who fought for fairness, justice, and opportunity in Texas. From the days of rural populists who organized for the working class to civil rights champions who pushed for equality under the law, the modern Democratic Party in Texas has always believed in the power of people to shape their future.
In Rusk County, we carry that legacy forward with a bold, clear-eyed vision of what’s possible. We believe in growth that lifts everyone — not just the wealthy few. That means investing in our communities, our schools, and our shared infrastructure. It means planning smartly and sustainably, using technology and innovation to create good jobs and protect our natural resources for the next generation.
We believe in abundance — not just in economics, but in opportunity, dignity, and democratic voice. We are working for a future where everyone has a seat at the table, where no one is left behind, and where government works for the many, not the special interests of the few.
We also believe in the strength of local voices and the power of grassroots action. Real change begins at home — in town halls, school board meetings, church gatherings, and conversations across the kitchen table. That’s why we are committed to organizing, listening, and acting in ways that reflect the hopes and concerns of Rusk County families. Whether it's advocating for better healthcare, fair wages, rural broadband, or protecting our voting rights, we are driven by the idea that every person matters, and every vote counts.
The Rusk County Democratic Party is building a coalition of neighbors, friends, workers, families, young and old people who believe in progress rooted in justice, compassion, and common sense. Our future is not written — it's ours to build, together. We hope you'll join us.
