Recruit and coordinate volunteers to get involved and participate in community organizations/events such as working at local food bank (HIM), volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels, participate in community/downtown RCDP sponsored events, join local civic groups (Lions/Kiwanis/Rotary). In addition, develop criteria and procedures for an annual RCDP scholarship(s) to be awarded within Rusk County school systems. Committee will recommend and coordinate scholarship fundraising events/options and select college bound Rusk County high school graduate(s) who meet application criteria as recipients.

Manage and coordinate all RCDP committee events and their event related needs. Work with other committees and the County Executive Committee to arrange for speakers and entertainment. Activities include reserving meeting/activity space, set-up, staffing and arranging food and drinks when needed. Coordinate civic events (i.e. booth for Syrup Festival), social gatherings (RCDP After-hours, potlucks, theatre attendance), and other appropriate group activities.

Solicit donations for general or specific RCDP funds. Initiate and develop fundraising ideas and events for the RCDP. Work with full CEC and other committees such Events for coordinating event; Communications for advertising fundraiser. Develop method to have routine donations (ActBlue).

Work together to develop and propose strategies for advancing the goals and values of the RCDP. Develop messaging and methods to best disseminate information and call to action within the RCDP and our community. Plan and organize volunteers to attend and monitor local governing agencies such as county commissioners, city councils, school boards and economic development meetings. Provide coverage of local, state and federal actions that impact specific groups such as Veterans and promote appropriate calls to action. Provide training on how government works at all levels.

Maintain and update RCDP website, social media, Facebook, TikTok, etc. Press Releases, Newsletters, postcards, etc. Communicate meetings and events to membership.
